Just north of the city, East Point Reserve is noted for its many walking trails, cycling paths, and lush surroundings teeming with native wildlife. This area is also home to the city’s East Point Military Museum, introducing tourists to the region’s rich military history. The reserve is particularly attractive at dusk, when you can watch a large mob of wallabies emerge to feed as the sun sets over the bay. A small saltwater lake is also located inside the reserve, created specifically to allow visitors year-round swimming and fishing opportunities in safe waters. You can also explore the offshore coral reef, a rich underwater world of protected marine wildlife. A large children's playground and barbecue facilities are provided for visitors planning family picnics in this spot. Set around Lake Alexander, this area is green and lush. Lake is great (and crocodile free). Some wallabies in the area. Lovely grassy areas for picnics or relaxing. Nice place for a walk. more »
Awesome family area or quiet time for your self, def worth a visit, great cycle path as well. Has a lake near the kids play ground, kayak hire or bring your own :) more »
Absolutely beautiful. Great for a stroll along the beach. Lot if little critters to find amongst the rocks. Parks are near by for the little ones.
Great spot for the family. Picnic areas, tables, bbq, toilets and kids playground. Some good fishing to be had as well off the Rocks in the dry season.
