  • As a child I was in the Alpine Zoo every year, now I was back for years. The enclosures and the zoo itself are adapted to the terrain. But that also means who thinks here with toddlers and strollers to be able to take a leisurely walk, is mistaken. Since my children are already teenagers, the uphill/downhill trails were less of a problem. Generally, you should be good on foot and a sun hat is an advantage. The zoo itself is manageable, but also captivates with its madness view of the city. A new enclosure for the vultures is currently being built. Sometimes you don't see the entire size of the enclosure, as this runs into the forest, which only catches the attention of attentive visitors. There are always seating areas to rest. The food in the bistro is really class and the prices normal. There is also a small but fine shop to buy a small souvenir.

  • Have visited the zoo at the end of August. It is beautifully laid out and fits into the landscape. For make of the shown animals you have to be very patient and look long. Unfortunately, the tour through the current construction site was not optimally possible, so that one only came very awkwardly to some enclosures.
