  • What a delightful place to visit! Full of history re- enacted and activities for all. The staff was well informed and I enjoyed the ‘quick history lessons’ given by them. I was lucky enough to stumble upon the last summer farmers market and got some real good bargains for a hoot! They don’t open all year but the website will inform of the activities lined up.
  • Very enjoyable day out with the family. The online ticket admissions was the way to go as it allowed us to bypass those waiting in line on a very hot day. If travelling by car, arrive early to get a parking spot close to the entry or risk waiting for their shuttle or a long walk (not bad at the start of the day, but not fun at the end). We were glad that all the extra events (rides in the amusement park, train ride, horse carriage ride, boat tour, etc) were all free once you were in the park. Another sit down restaurant would be nice to have, as the one that is there fills up quickly.
