Kakabeka Falls, Kakabeka Falls

#8 of 221 in Nature in Ontario
Marvel at the second-highest waterfall in Ontario, Kakabeka Falls--aptly nicknamed "The Niagara of the North." Situated on the Kaministiquia river in the eponymous provincial park, the waterfalls plummet from a height of 40 m (130 ft). Easily accessed, a large boardwalk surrounds the river basin, so you can enjoy a scenic view of the powerful cascades. Drive or hike up to the viewpoints, explore the area's pristine nature, and admire the waterfall tumbling over the tall cliffside. • Beautiful experience and sight to see. The attached video does not give the sight justice. I would highly recommend this to anybody travelling through Thunder Bay to stop by and see this marvellous geologic wonder. It is truly awe inspiring.
  • Great atmosphere and picnic spot. Parking is hard to come by during summer and weekends. Worth visiting!
