Marvel at the second-highest waterfall in Ontario, Kakabeka Falls--aptly nicknamed "The Niagara of the North." Situated on the Kaministiquia river in the eponymous provincial park, the waterfalls plummet from a height of 40 m (130 ft). Easily accessed, a large boardwalk surrounds the river basin, so you can enjoy a scenic view of the powerful cascades. Drive or hike up to the viewpoints, explore the area's pristine nature, and admire the waterfall tumbling over the tall cliffside. • I have been to Kakabeka Falls many times over the years but this is my first visit in several years. I love watching the falls and feel the spray on my face. The hiking and walking trails are great.  more »
  • This is a must see falls. Just a short walk from the parking lot. There's a nice boardwalk to walk on and see the falls from different angles.  more »

  • Beautiful experience and sight to see. The attached video does not give the sight justice. I would highly recommend this to anybody travelling through Thunder Bay to stop by and see this marvellous geologic wonder. It is truly awe inspiring.
  • Great atmosphere and picnic spot. Parking is hard to come by during summer and weekends. Worth visiting!
