Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Montreal

4.3
Admire an impressive race track, used throughout the year for a host of recreational activities, at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. First opened in 1978, the track provides the venue for the Formula One Canadian Grand Prix. Instead of laying dormant for the rest of the year, the track opens to the public as part of a park located on the same artificial island. Come here to run, bike, skate, and drive on the professional race track, admiring the design of its 13 turns and viewing platforms. Put Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and other Montreal attractions into our Montreal online trip itinerary planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • When not used for Formula 1, the Gilles Villeneuve track is used by cyclist and roller bladers. With cars barred from the track, it is so pleasant to use as there is no fear or accidents with cars.  more »

  • Whether you're a petrol head or not, I highly recommend biking the circuit. Best way to experience a street circuit that is a highpoint of the F1 calendar without shelling out for hefty race tickets. Look out for the "Wall of Champions" on the other side of the chicane before the starting grid! Clear information provided when you're on the circuit as far as expected etiquette goes. Easy bike access from Montreal so pick-up and drop-off of your rental is a breeze.
  • It was beautiful... very lively. But most important thing, don't forget to carry your ID with you to prove your age, otherwise they won't allow you to enter.
