Concordia University (French: Université Concordia; commonly referred to as Concordia) is a public comprehensive research university located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Founded in 1974 following the merger of Loyola College and Sir George Williams University, Concordia is one of the three universities in Quebec where English is the primary language of instruction (the others being McGill and Bishop's). As of the 2018-19 academic year, there were 46,829 students enrolled in credit courses at Concordia, making the university among the largest in Canada by enrollment. The university has two campuses, set approximately 7 kilometres (4 miles) apart: Sir George Williams Campus is the main campus, located in Downtown Montreal in an area known as Quartier Concordia; and Loyola Campus in the residential district of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. With four faculties, a school of graduate studies and numerous colleges, centres and institutes, Concordia offers over 300 undergraduate and 100 graduate programs and courses.
The university's John Molson School of Business consistently ranks among the top 10 Canadian business schools and the top 100 worldwide. Moreover, Concordia was ranked seventh in Canada and 229th among world universities in the International Professional Classification of Higher Education Institutions, a worldwide ranking compiled by the École des Mines de Paris that uses as its sole criterion the number of graduates occupying the rank of Chief Executive Officer at Fortune 500 companies.
Concordia is a non-sectarian and coeducational institution, with more than 215,000 alumni worldwide.

The university is a member of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, International Association of Universities, Canadian Association of Research Libraries, Canadian University Society for Intercollegiate Debate, Canadian Bureau for International Education and Canadian University Press. The university's varsity teams, known as the Stingers, compete in the Quebec Student Sport Federation of U Sports.

  • Concordia is a really great university. I have watched students over the years come out with a fantastic education. Really great and accommodating professors, administration and staff.  more »

  • It's a somewhat decent school with some good and some bad professors. It's got a cool campus, and some nice buildings like the EV and MB. Otherwise, here's been my experience: The school's courses are practically all unavailable (especially if you're trying to fulfill your non-JMSB requirements), 90% of my midterms have been on a Sunday, and overlapping with each other I have had nothing but problems with the administration, and In my critical thinking class, I got penalized for not repeating the textbook verbatim... Do what you will with this information, this is just my experience with the school
  • This university is more like a research institute. Most of the profs don’t know how to teach because they don’t care about the students success, they only care about their research. If you want to learn anything from them, just forget about it. You learn everything basically by yourself. The stuff in concordia are some how stupid and ignorant. They don’t know what they are doing most of the time. They don’t care about you, the only thing they care is whether you paid your money to them or not. I don’t recommend this uni. If you can apply for a better uni, avoid as much as you can. But, you can’t go to other unis, and you still want a degree, then welcome to this money-making/careless barn.
