Terry Fox Monument commemorates one of Canada's most famous and heartbreaking figures and his quest to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Runner Terry Fox began his run across Canada in April 1980, and ended his journey in Thunder Bay when it became too painful to continue. Head up to the monument and enjoy the sweeping view of the surrounding city and bay. Admire the 2.7 m (9 ft) bronze statue, set upon a massive granite base, and its depiction of Terry Fox in the final steps of his marathon. • Beautiful spot and monument for such a great Canadian. Just up the road from the milepost that marks the end of the Marathon of Hope. The grounds and monument are very well kept and a great reminder of what it means to be selfless. Great views if that's what you want out of it. The best spot to view the sleeping giant.
  • Well worth it to get off the highway to have a few minutes to look. Also, this view is amazing!
