  • Amazing fortifications and ramparts and castle buildings. The whole city has a wonderful historical feeling, in places it's a bit like the original that Harry Potter was based on. A little bit tacky o...  more »
  • Cit' de Carcassonne medieval fortress, residential area of the city of Carcassonne France 2500 years of history, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I love to walk on such streets, which are many hundreds of years, and maybe thousands. Once was at a similar facility in Belgorod-Dniestrovsky fortress Ackerman, from the outside also looks very impressive, but inside is empty, almost nothing, and here I could not even imagine that inside will be a residential city, restaurants, shops, hotel, church, etc. . Loved!

  • Our guide was easy to understand and very informative on the history and life of the city. She dispelled rumors or incorrect ideas. She tailored all to our age group. I loved walking the medieval streets . Would have liked to walked above the castle but age and mobility prevented that. It was an enjoyable day stepping back in history.
  • If you are a fan of medieval castles, I highly recommend a visit! I love how many of the details and material are preserved and there is a village within that is alive! Just that it’s mostly souvenirs shops and restaurants now but still interesting nonetheless. We walked around admiring the structures and views for a good 3 hours. Plenty of parking here so there is nothing to worry about if you are coming by car.
