Oldest City in Germany
Trier may be the oldest city in Germany, founded long before the Roman times. It sits in a valley between low, vine-covered, sandstone hills in the celebrated Mosel wine region. Monuments from the Roman period and well-preserved architectural jewels from later ages have earned the city a spot on the World Heritage list.
