Admire Jaipur’s majestic “floating palace,” Jal Mahal, situated in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. The red sandstone palace supposedly dates back to the 18th century, but has been renovated and restored numerous times. On a lakeside stroll, you’ll find that the palace appears to be floating on the water's surface, but in reality only the top floor of the imposing building is visible, while the rest are submerged underwater. While entry into the palace is prohibited, you can take a boat ride on the lake to inspect it closely, or enjoy the view from the land. The palace displays rajput architecture style. Currently, the entrance is restricted, but it is possible to appreciate its beauty by taking a boat ride on the lake. Man Sagar is an artificial lake formed by the damming of the Dravyavati River, flanked by the hills of Aravalli on its three sides. The lake was built in the 17th century and was named after renowned King Kachwaha Rajput, Raja Man Singh.
A beautiful structure located in the middle of a lake. The building has a garden at top level and trees are seen from distant. The building creates a majestic view at night when the reflection of the building is seen into the water. This is also one of the top tourist spots of Jaipur.
It is good to be there. At present we can only have a look at it from roadside. But it's location amidst the water is nice to see. And boating facility good if it is reopened. At present we are free to have a look at it from the roadside. No need of paying money for visiting the place or for the parking.
