Dam Garden Must See
Visit Malampuzha Garden and Dam and enjoy picturesque views of the surrounding hills of the Western Ghats. The dam serves as Kerala's largest reservoir, standing 115 m (33 ft) tall and 2,069 m (6,788 ft) long. Head to the Japanese section of the adjacent garden to admire the landscaping, and then look for the statue of Yakshi (a protagonist from a novel), carved from a single large rock. Rent a paddleboat or motorboat, and immerse yourself in tranquil surroundings as you slowly make your way across the water. Alternatively, head to the vantage point and take in panoramic vistas of the surroundings. Discover how to plan a Palakkad trip in just a few steps with Inspirock's itinerary builder.

  • Recently new fish aquarium created it's mind blowing you cant expect better then this. It's amazing. Hats off to the administration. Well done sir. Keep it up. A must visit for kids and all age group. Malampuzha dam is simply enjoyment.
  • Drove to Malampuzha damn from Thrissur on a Saturday. The roads leading to this place from the National highway is in good shape. There is enough parking space for cars. Dam was very crowded on the day we visited. Lots of excited school children were running around. We had assumed 3 hours for the visit but as it turned out it took us more than 5 hours . The damn is very huge and walking from one corner to the other takes a long time. There is dedicated play area for kids but I felt the equipments were really old and rusty. Toy train experience was one of it's kind. Costs 10 bucks for an adult. There are enough snack counters in the park but unfortunately they don't sell drinking water but are happy to sell sugar loaded drinks like 7up and all. Please carry your own water. Overall it's a good place to spend half a day with your family.
