Built around 1840, the museum building features a typical Kerala pattern of architecture with red mount blocks, clay bricks, and granite with unusual woodwork, all surrounded by a well-manicured park. The museum displays various bronze idols, ancient ornaments, a temple chariot, and ivory carvings with Japanese shadow-play leather figures depicting Mahabharata and Ramayana epics. • The cost to get in for foreigners is like 40 times the cost for the locals, not worth it, old run down and not much to see. The building is quite amazing so maybe worth paying to get in.  more »

  • This is an amazing place with the perfect mixture of beauty of architecture and nature. I suggest everybody to visit here during night. The vibe you get here at night is really amazing. The park surrounded by it is well kept clean. People come here morning and evening for walking. The architecture is simply amazing and the museum collections will blow your mind. This place is really amazing
  • Its an eco friendly zoo. I liked the fact that the zoo is plastic free. The security guards will check your bags and will ensure that you don't carry any plastic bags into the zoo. Instead they will provide with paper covers to put your food which i really felt proud to see. If you are carrying water in plastic bottle, you need to deposit 20rs and they will refund you when you return and show the bottle. They will place a sticker on the bottle when you pay the deposit amount. There is a lot to walk in this zoo. But its worth it. You can see lots of animals, birds, reptiles etc. The compound has museum, zoo and art gallery. The tickets are separate for each. Do not be in a hurry when you visit this place. Take your time and experience well.
