  • Only a small part of the palace is open to visitors. But for such a small entrance fee (about US$1), it is definitely worth a visit and to cross off the bucket list.  more »

  • Good place to learn history of Jogjakarta Palace. 5K for the fee entrance and 1K if you bring along your camera. You can just walk around yourself or get a guide that will explain stories about the palace. But in the end of the tour, it is polite if you give some money for the guide. This palace is also the residence of Sultan of Yogyakarta. There are some spots that you can not step on or pass, so be mindful for your footsteps. At the end of the tour, there will be batik sellers that will offer you their products. Price of the batik is quite expensive because mostly it is hand-painted batik. But the quality is very good.
  • The show only during weekend while google tell me otherwise. Other than that, this place offer you a great historical building and history. Tour guide help you explain the story related to the palace. However, at the end of the tour, he will bring you to a shop that selling batik. Be careful and be polite when they try to sell to you batik. If you not interested on buying batik. Do not follow the tour guide go outside the palace. Create any excuses. Have fun!
