Dublin Writers Museum Reviews
Литературный музей в Дублине был с 1991 года в старинном здании XVIII века, чтобы привлечь внимание общественности к литературе Ирландии. Здесь музейная экспозиция, библиотека, администрация и галерея... more »The Literary Museum in Dublin has been in an 18th-century building since 1991 to draw public attention to Irish literature. There is a museum exhibition, library, administration and gallery. In the annex of the cafe and bookstore, on the upper floors of lecture and exhibition halls. In the basement - the restaurant "First Chapter." The museum houses photographs, belongings and portraits of Irish writers, including originals by artists - Patrick Swift, Edward McGuire, Reginald Gray and Harry Kernoff. All exhibits are equipped with information signatures in English. The main "artifacts" are letters from Thomas More, manuscripts of Its, a contract signed by Jonathan Swift, and other first and rare editions of books. Admission costs 7.50 euros. If you are not a fan of Irish literature and do not speak English, then this museum is mono miss.
El museo que, quizas por estar situado al otro lado del rio, no es de los mas frecuentados. Sin embargo bien merece una visita porque ofrece una vision muy interesante de los grandes de la literatura ... more »The museum that, perhaps because it is located on the other side of the river, is not one of the most frequented. However it is well worth a visit because it offers a very interesting view of the greats of Irish literature. In addition there is audioguia in Spanish that paves the way quite a bit if the English is not your forte. It is also worth the house itself in which it is located, from the twentieth century
I found it very interesting to learn how many influential writers were from Ireland and Dublin. Each section of the museum had in depth details. You could spend a few hours there reading the information. They also had audio guides that gave a small amount of information and background on each writer. So depending on how in depth you want the experience you could listen to each section and be done within an hour or you can stay and read each poster as well.
Lots of interesting information to read. Audio tour gave a good abridged version. It's a bit dark in there but I think it may have to do with preserving the books and display items, not sure.
