#1 of 12 in Nature in Miyakojima
Rent a bicycle to explore Shimojiiima Island, connected to the much bigger Irabu Island by a complex bridge system with a total length of 3,540 m (11,614 ft). With turquoise and azure shades of water, the island stands out as a famous diving and snorkeling spot. Part of Irabu National Park, its 7,000 inhabitants cultivate sugar cane and fish. You can swim, cycle, stroll, or fish, enjoying pristine nature and shades of blue. Keep an eye out for skipjack tuna fish, which make frequent visits to these waters. For airplane spotting, visit the island's international airport. Plan a trip to Miyakojima easily and quickly by telling Inspirock to suggest an itinerary.

  • Cross the bridge from Irabu Island to the base island. We recommend the Nakanoshima Beach and the street pond, but there are also uninhabited beaches where cars can barely be seen. You can go to the left side of the pond, but the snorkel is at your own risk because there is a flow at times.

  • We started regular flights to Shimoshima airport. Now it is Narita ⇔ Miyako Island (Shimoji Airport). After this, Nagoya and the international flights will also enter. More and more people seem to be overflowing in Miyako Island. A large cruise ship from China is also a big ship that looks like a big building built from Irabu Island, and tourists are visiting. Because the airport came to use a scheduled flight, the road which went around the tip of the runway and put it on Irabu Island became a traffic prohibition and turned from the other side, and it was regrettable that it was not possible to drive while watching the sea and arriving and leaving the airplane.
