Visit the ruins of Nakijin Castle Ruins, a 14th-century Ryukyuan castle and part of a World Heritage Site. Destroyed by the Japanese in the 1609 invasion of Okinawa, the ruins were abandoned. Nowadays, you can explore the imposing stone walls of the former castle, spread out across the lush forested hills, or visit the small museum that displays artifacts found on the premises. From the hilltop ruin site, you can enjoy scenic views of the East China Sea. Ask Inspirock to suggest an itinerary and make planning a trip to Nakijin-son fast, fun, and easy.
Nakijin Castle Ruins Reviews
自然豊かな場所です more »It is located near Ocean Expo Memorial Park (Churaumi Aquarium). The castle ruins of Okinawa are only castles (stone walls) except Shuri Castle. There are no castles, no shrines, no gates, like a castle on the mainland. However, the castle curves beautifully, and it is obvious that it is making to prevent foreign enemies. Admission fee was also included for the museum. It is a place rich in nature.
more »It is near Gusk and Churaumi Aquarium, which is a distance from Naha compared to Nakashiro and Katsuren. Admission is set at the ruins of Nakihito Castle and the Nakihito Village Historical and Cultural Center. If you dive through the stone gate, you can walk along the stone steps of a straight line, and there is an old tojo road in parallel next to it. A beautiful stone wall of the field area continues to the place where it climbs, and the sea can be viewed.
Superb place with stunning views and also sakura blossoming. Something to consider if you are in the area! If you come on sundays, there seemed to be a magic show which was free as well! Splendid!
Not a big castle, and it was raining so we didn't spend much time here. We were there on 9th February 2019, when there was the cherry blossom festival, but there weren't many shops that impressed us. But the view was fantastic and the sakura was beautiful.
