  • while the summit of Mt.Shari is not very spectacular, the real reason to do this hike is the "old trail" up. After the first trail/forest section you will reach the stream which you will follow for...  more »
  • No, we didn't climb up this mountain, but only saw it from the window of a hotel in the town of Shari. Still, it looked super-beautiful in the late afternoon with a beautiful blue sky.  more »

  • dominates the skyline, awesome
  • Following Mt. Rishiri, one of The 100 most famous mountains in Japan in Hokkaido, we climbed Mt. Shari on July 11th. The weather is stable and perfect for mountain climbing. The parking lot of Kiyotakeso at the trailhead was a few kilometers of dirt, but it was easy to access if it was a car. Climbing continues to climb the swamp, but it does not get wet. Be careful of steep climbs and slips. I think that it is better to choose the route of Kumami Pass which becomes a little roundabout considering safety though it is possible to shorten it in time when thinking about the downlink route. The weather is good and it gets hot and humid, but as expected, Hokkaido, imet a pleasant climb as a karatori succeeded in climbing From the top, the Sea of Okhotsk spreads and the Shiretoko Peninsula continues, and Mt. Rausu, which is scheduled to climb tomorrow, rises. I'd like to shout that I'm here in Hokkaido. The four islands of the north were also passed, but I could see it. On the way back, go down the mountain via The Kumami Pass as planned. I think that it is better to equip the bear spray carefully to the bear as the place name. The urge to see a wild bear and the anxiety when i came across it were mixed, but luckily I couldn't see the bear and arrived at the trailhead. Onnepri mountain climbing was the best. Go to the Rausu-dake trailhead.
