The International Library of Children's Literature Reviews
円形に並べられた子供の図書室は本の分類が子供にわかりやすく、夏休みの自由研究の調べものなどここに来たら全部わかるのでは、と思いま... more »When I purchased the Ueno Welcome Passport and visited museums, I stopped by because there was an International Children's Library that I had never been to before. Built in 1906, this heavily brick building has a lot of courage to "feel free to stop by", but anyone can enter it for free. I thought that the library of the child arranged in the circle was easy to understand the classification of the book to the child, and all understood when coming here such as the examination of the free research etc. of summer vacation. There are a lot of foreign picture books in the room on the other side. I saw an Indian picture book for the first time. It was very interesting to compare the popular picture books in Japan, which are translated into many foreign languages and displayed side by side. There were halls and cafes, and it was such a wonderful place that I would like to go there every day if I lived nearby.
旧帝国図書館でルネサンス様式の建築 安藤忠雄と日建設計で大規模な改修して 国際こども図書館として生まれ変わる。 改修工事に際しては数々の賞も取っている。 more »Renaissance architecture at the former Imperial Library Ando Tadao and Nisken design ed. He has also won a number of awards for his renovations.
Really a good place for parents go with children. Lots of different language and kinds of books for children. And it is a historical building with good atmosphere
I was really surprised by how few books they had compared to the size of the building. There is a collection of books from around the world that were translated into Japanese in one room, and in a smaller room is a collection of picture books in their original language. We enjoyed browsing through the collection, but I don’t believe we would go again.
