A hub of cultural attractions, Ueno Park originally served as the gardens of the Kaneiji Temple during the Edo period. In 1873 it opened to the public as one of the first Western-style parks. An island temple to the goddess of fortune and beauty floats in its pond, while the national museum and art museum stand as bastions of Japan's rich heritage. Rest up between cultural sightseeing, stop by the zoo, or visit the market under the elevated train line. In the spring, join the flocks of visitors enjoying the over 800 blossoming cherry trees. 上野でランチ後に食後の運動として公園を散策しました。広すぎない敷地がちょうど良かったです。駅の目の前なのも便利だと思いました。 more »
After lunch in Ueno, we walked around the park as a post-dinner exercise. The site was just right that it was not too large. I thought that it was convenient in front of the station.View original -
벛꽃철에 오면 사람이 많겠지만 평일 오후에는 가니 사람도 없고 노천 카페에 앉아 커피한잔하며 관광으로 지친 다리를 쉬기 좋았습니다. more »
The staff were very friendly and helpful.View original

A great park, full of attractions. If you come in spring you can admire one of the most famous place to watch the cherry blossoms bloom. In other periods it is great to take a walk, visit one of the museums here or go shopping in the shopping district across the street. My favorite place are two temples, one in the pond and other overlooking it from the hill with the amazing tree growing in circle in front of it

A very beautiful park, surrounded by great museums, cafes and shrines. Great place to kill an afternoon, especially during cherry blossom season. There are often street performers of high caliber, and regular festivals. Highly recommend hopping accross the street and spending a few hours at the National Museum which is only 620 yen as of Feb 2019.
