  • An old fashioned type of zoo. Even the rhinoceros had a very small, concrete enclosure. The queue to see the pandas was an hour and a half long but it was a public holiday.  more »

  • All-in-all it was a good zoo and a great experience (especially at ¥600). It's a good size but one can complete it writing 90 minutes, which is good so one can make multiple rounds or check back on previously inactive animals. The one thing keeping it from a 5 star experience is that many of the exhibits are just too small. They used vertical space well, but there were many cases where a cage could easily be expanded to allow the animals more space or let them hide if they want. Generally all the animals seemed healthy and happy but a few were getting stressed by the end of the day. Generally, though, it's a great way to spend the afternoon.
  • Great zoo with lots to see. The giant panda exhibit is fun, and the tigers, gorillas, and bears are always exciting to see up close. Compared to American zoos it is extremely affordable both in entry price and in-park food & gift shops. Some of the bigger African exhibits close earlier than the rest of the park, so make sure to hit those early in the day if you want to see Giraffes, Elephants, Rhinos or others.
