An ornate example of Gothic architecture within the historical city center, St. Anne's Church and its red brick spires represent one of Vilnius' most recognizable buildings. Originally constructed in 1500, the church survived multiple wars, conflicts, and 50 years of Soviet rule. Legend has it that the invading Napoleon found it so beautiful that he wished to send it brick-by-brick back to Paris for his own. Despite the outside, its interior is Baroque: keep an eye out for the ornate altar and carved wooden statues. Take in the sizeable stained-glass windows, high vaulted ceilings, and incorporation of the church's signature bricks into the arches themselves. Безумно красивый костел в стиле пламенеющей готики. Впрочем, он точно вызовет восхищение не только у поклонника готической архитектуры вроде меня, но и у любого другого гостя или жителя города. However, it will definitely cause admiration not only for a fan of Gothic architecture like me, but also for any other guest or resident of the city. The fact that how many centuries this building has been made a great impression is also made. It was interesting to go inside. The hall is not the largest, but very beautiful, decorated with stained glass windows. Be sure to visit.
Amazing architecture. Inside is not so very special, but the chandelier.. really nice. Of course church is not about outer beauty, but visit this gothic marvelous masterpiece which is in the city center was blasting.
The churches in Vilnius are many and they have pretty interior however the tranquility is taken by an overabundance of tourists and no enforced door policy.
