Seopjikoji, Seogwipo

#1 of 9 in Outdoors in Seogwipo
Outdoor Activity · Hidden Gem
A filming site of several Korean TV dramas, Seopjikoji attracts visitors with its scenic views of the coastline. The area owes its name to a 4m (13 ft) high stone that appears as a sudden bump on a flat hill. See a white lighthouse rising over a rocky beach, bordered by green fields dotted with white and yellow flowers. To reach the area, walk the narrow road that goes from the car park, following the coastline. You'll pass a church on the way to the lighthouse, which you can reach by climbing some steep steps. The cold breeze can easily turn into a strong wind, so remember to bring a jacket. Occasionally you can run into locals selling delicacies, such as grilled octopus, in front of the car park. • This is a great place to visit when in Jeju. Parking is easy at the large parking lot. It's a beautiful walk from there along hills and the coast. There are various outlooks and platforms for photo shoots and the views are really nice. There could be more information signs in English for international tourists, but that's the only improvement point I'd have.
  • Nice walk along the beautiful coastline. Not crowded and peaceful so you don't need to jostle for space. Maybe because it's winter time and weather is cold is wind is strong. Just wrap up nicely and the walk is still enjoyable if you prefer cold weather.
