Originally named “lying down ox” or "Soedun" in Korean, the estuary offers interesting views of curious lava formations overgrown with pine trees. Watch “tewoo” (large traditional wooden rafts) being hauled across the estuary by a rope strung between the riverbanks, or ride on a transparent kayak, allowing you to see what’s beneath the water's surface. Stroll on the black sand beach along the lazy river, where the fresh water meets the ocean. Head to the beach cafe and taste the mandarin and orange ice cream, a local specialty made using fruit grown in the area.     Soesokkak Estuary was a quick stop before leaving the Seogwipo city boundaries. Normally, it’s a nice spot to enjoy a kayak ride or a slow raft ride but with the non stop downpour, we couldn’t get...  more »

    Beautiful black sand beach. And there is a rafting place here across the narrow streams. Though during my visit (June 2018) the rafting place was closed, and it has been closed for quiet some time
