The time zone difference when traveling from Sydney to Tokyo is minus 1 hour. In September, Tokyo is a bit warmer than Sydney - with highs of 32°C and lows of 24°C. On the 14th (Mon), admire the natural beauty at Koko-en, explore the historical opulence of Himeji Castle, then don't miss a visit to Shoshazan Engyoji, and finally take in the awesome beauty at Mt. Takamikura.

Getting from Hiroshima to Himeji by train takes about an hour. Other options: drive; or do a combination of bus and train. In September, daily temperatures in Himeji can reach 31°C, while at night they dip to 26°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Mon) to allow enough time to take a train to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Step out of Kyoto to go to Osaka and see Universal Studios Japan, which is approximately 1h 15 min away. There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, take in the spiritual surroundings of Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, wander the streets of Gion, and don't miss a visit to Heian Shrine.

Traveling by train from Himeji to Kyoto takes an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Himeji in September, plan for little chillier nights in Kyoto, with lows around 23°C.
