The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Escape the urban bustle at Haeundae Beach and Gwangalli Beach. Discover out-of-the-way places like Songdo Beach and UN Memorial Cemetery. There's still lots to do: snap pictures at Gwangandaegyo Bridge, head outdoors with Dadaepo Beach, walk around Dongbaekseom Island, and relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas.

You can fly from Seoul to Busan in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. Prepare for somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Seoul in January: high temperatures in Busan hover around 7°C and lows are around -3°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 8th (Fri) so you can travel to Jeju.

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Yongmeori Beach and Hamdeok Beach. Explore hidden gems such as Seopjikoji and Jeongbang Waterfall. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Jeju: Seogwipo (Daepo Haean Jusangjeolli Cliff, Seongsan Ilchulbong, &more). Spend the 10th (Sun) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour.
