Tokyo is known for historic sites, parks, and shopping. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: make a trip to Meiji Jingu Shrine, see the interesting displays at Edo-Tokyo Museum, enjoy breathtaking views from Tokyo Metropolitan Government Buildings, and admire the landmark architecture of Tokyo Tower.

Finish up your sightseeing early on the 25th (Thu) so you can catch the train to Hiroshima.

Start off your visit on the 26th (Fri): contemplate the long history of Peace Memorial Park - Hiroshima, get engrossed in the history at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, and then steep yourself in history at Atomic Bomb Dome. On your second day here, take in the spiritual surroundings of Itsukushima Shrine, head off the coast to Miyajima, and then explore the historical opulence of Hiroshima Castle.

Traveling by train from Tokyo to Hiroshima takes 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and bus; or drive. June in Hiroshima sees daily highs of 79°F and lows of 68°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 27th (Sat) early enough to take a train to Himeji.

The castle around which the city of Himeji has developed represents one of the best preserved in the country, and has been designated as a national treasure and a World Heritage Site.
On the 28th (Sun), admire the natural beauty at Koko-en, then step into the grandiose world of Himeji Castle, then steep yourself in history at Nishi no Maru, and finally steep yourself in history at Yoneda Taishiji Temple. On the 29th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the awesome beauty at Mt. Takamikura, kick back and relax at Matsue Swimming Beach, then enjoy the sand and surf at Amore Beach, then wander the streets of Nankinmachi (Kobe Chinatown), and finally take a stroll through Kobe Harborland.

Getting from Hiroshima to Himeji by train takes about an hour. Other options: drive; or do a combination of bus and train. In June, plan for daily highs up to 76°F, and evening lows to 69°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 29th (Mon) so you can catch the train to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Take a break from Kyoto with a short trip to Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, about 1h 15 min away. There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, step into the grandiose world of Nijo Castle, take in the spiritual surroundings of Sanjusangendo Temple, and admire the striking features of Kyutei Omuro.

Take a train from Himeji to Kyoto in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 81°F in June, and nighttime lows around 67°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Fri) so you can take a train to Kanazawa.
