Naha, the capital of Okinawa, has deep roots: Stone Age relics have been found in the city, and through the Middle Ages it rose in importance in the Ryukyu Kingdom.
On the 26th (Sun), explore the world behind art at Okinawa Prefectural Museum & Art Museum and then see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour. On the next day, get engrossed in the history at Himeyuri Peace Museum, then contemplate the long history of The Tower of Himeyuri, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Okinawa Peace Memorial Park, and finally contemplate the long history of Sefa-Utaki.

London, UK to Naha is an approximately 16.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Greenwich Mean Time to Japan Standard Time, which is usually a 9 hour difference. In January, Naha is much hotter than London - with highs of 22°C and lows of 17°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 27th (Mon) so you can travel to Miyakojima.

A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
Kick off your visit on the 28th (Tue): enjoy the sand and surf at Aragusuku Beach, visit a coastal fixture at Higashi Hennazaki Lighthouse, and then kick back and relax at Yonaha Maehama Beach.
