One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
On the 22nd (Mon), steep yourself in history at Cheonmachong Tomb, appreciate the history behind Seokguram, then steep yourself in history at Bulguksa Temple, and finally identify plant and animal life at Gyeongju Bird Park. On the 23rd (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: contemplate the long history of Yangdong Folk Village, steep yourself in history at Oksanseowon Confucian Academy, then contemplate the waterfront views at Anapji Pond, and finally see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum.

Traveling by combination of train, flight, and taxi from Seoul to Gyeongju takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train, flight, and taxi; or drive. In July in Gyeongju, expect temperatures between 87°F during the day and 73°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Tue) to allow enough time to travel to Changnyeong-gun.

Although many Changnyeong-gun tours revolve around its distinctive cultural legacy that dates back to the early Three Kingdoms period, there are still plenty of things to do for those pursuing great outdoors.
On the 24th (Wed), get engrossed in the history at Changnyeong Museum, then identify plant and animal life at Upo Wetland, and then explore the ancient world of Changnyeong Shilla Jinheungwang Cheokgyeongbi.

Do your shopping at Jagalchi Market and Shinsegae Dept. Store Centum City. Get some historical perspective at Haedong Yonggung Temple and Beomeosa Temple. Next up on the itinerary: kick back and relax at Haeundae Beach, head outdoors with Gwangalli Beach, admire the masterpieces at Busan Museum of Art, and visit a coastal fixture at Yeongdo Lighthouse.

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO.
Museum-lovers will get to explore Arario Museum Tapdong Cinema and Jeju National Museum. Gwaneumsa Temple and Jeju Museum of Art are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Take a break from Jeju with a short trip to Seongsan Ilchulbong in Seogwipo, about 1h 20 min away. There's still lots to do: identify plant and animal life at Geomunoreum, enjoy the sand and surf at Hamdeok Beach, explore the fascinating underground world of Manjanggul Cave, and view the masterpieces at The Islander.
