Do a combination of flight and bus from Ishigaki to Takachiho-cho in 7 hours. In October, Takachiho-cho is a bit cooler than Ishigaki - with highs of 28°C and lows of 17°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Mon) to allow enough time to travel to Yakushima-cho.

Getting from Kyoto to Miyakojima by flight takes about 5.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of train, tram, and flight; or do a combination of train, bus, and flight. When traveling from Kyoto in November, plan for a bit warmer days and much warmer nights in Miyakojima: temperatures range from 30°C by day to 24°C at night.
