You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Aragusuku Beach and Toguchi no Hama. And it doesn't end there: head off the coast to Irabu-jima Island, enjoy the sand and surf at Yonaha Maehama Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Sunayama Beach, and take in the views from Kurima Bridge.

Change things up with these side-trips from Shari-cho: Abashiri Prison Museum (in Abashiri) and Teshikaga-cho (Lake Mashu & Mashu Third Observatory). There's still lots to do: admire the sheer force of Kamuiwakka Hot Waterfall, make a trip to Oshinkosin Observation Deck, cruise along Road to Heaven, and contemplate the waterfront views at Shiretoko Goko Lake.
