Venture out of the city with trips to Himeji (Koko-en Garden & Himeji Castle), Nankinmachi (Kobe Chinatown) (in Chuo) and Nara (Nara Park & Kasuga Grand Shrine). Amsterdam, Holland to Osaka is an approximately 15-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of train and flight. You'll lose 8 hours traveling from Amsterdam to Osaka due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Amsterdam in March, things will get a bit warmer in Osaka: highs are around 16°C and lows about 5°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Thu) so you can catch the train to Kyoto.

Kyoto is very close to Osaka. In April, daytime highs in Kyoto are 22°C, while nighttime lows are 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Tue) early enough to travel to Tokyo.
