Kick off your visit on the 19th (Thu): kick back and relax at Cua Dai Beach, then take in nature's colorful creations at Jack's Cat Cafe, then steep yourself in history at Cantonese Assembly Hall, and finally take in the exciting artwork at Ha Ha - Art In Everything. Nestled on the banks of the Perfume River, the city of Hue remains most famous as the former home of the Nguyen Dynasty, the influence of which remains evident in local palaces, temples, forts, and museums.
On the 21st (Sat), kick back and relax at Thuan An Beach and then surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour. Here are some ideas for day two: don't miss a visit to Nine Dynastic Urns, then admire the landmark architecture of Thien Mu Pagoda, then contemplate the long history of Imperial City, and finally browse the different shops at Big C Market.

Drive from Hoi An to Hue in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. When traveling from Hoi An in December, plan for little chillier days in Hue, with highs around 26°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 21°C. A fairly nondescript town, Ninh Binh acts as a base for explorations of the province of the same name, with the karst landscape and lush valleys that surround the town offering a wealth of scenic vistas of rice paddies and rugged rocks.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Bai Dinh Pagoda and Thai Vi Temple. Visiting Nature & Wildlife Tours and Cuc Phuong National Park will get you outdoors. Step out of Ninh Binh to go to Nam Dinh and see Quat Lam Beach, which is approximately 1h 25 min away. There's more to do: don't miss a visit to Bich Dong Pagoda.

Step off the beaten path and head to Muong Hoa Valley and The Stone Church (Holy Rosary Church). Take a break from the city and head to Fansipan Mountain and Nature & Wildlife Tours. Change things up with a short trip to Den Mau in Lao Cai (about 1h 15 min away). The adventure continues: take a stroll through Giang Ta Chai Village.
