One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Get outdoors at Bukhansan National Park and Cheonggyecheon Stream. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Trickeye Museum Seoul and Bongeunsa Temple. Step out of Seoul with an excursion to Nami Island in Chuncheon--about 1h 40 min away. The adventure continues: contemplate the long history of Gyeongbokgung Palace, take in nature's colorful creations at Namsan Park, make a trip to Jongmyo Shrine, and stop by Insadong.

Andong

Capital City of Korean Spiritual Culture

Sitting along either side of the Nakdong River, Andong maintains an unrivalled reputation as a center for Korean folk and cultural heritage.
Museum-lovers will get to explore Traditional Cultural Contents Museum and Hahoe Mask Museum. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Andong Hahoe Folk Village and Byeongsanseowon Confucian Academy. Step out of Andong with an excursion to Juwangsan National Park in Cheongsong-gun--about 1h 25 min away. There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of Dosanseowon Confucian School and take a peaceful walk through Ahndong Hoban Nature Forest.

Gyeongju

Museum Without Walls

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Get a sense of the local culture at Cheonmachong Tomb and Royal Tomb of Queen Seondeok. Step out of the city life by going to Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond and Naeyeonsan County Park. Step out of Gyeongju with an excursion to The Posco Museum in Pohang--about 52 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: examine the collection at Gyeongju National Museum, contemplate the long history of Yangdong Folk Village, take in the spiritual surroundings of Bulguksa Temple, and get to know the fascinating history of Tongiljeon.

Getting from Andong to Gyeongju by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: take a bus; or take a train. Traveling from Andong in March, expect nights in Gyeongju to be about the same, around 5°C, while days are slightly colder, around 5°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 2nd (Fri) early enough to go by car to Busan.

Busan

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Haedong Yonggung Temple and Geumjung Mt. fortress. Museum-lovers will appreciate Busan Museum and Busan Museum of Art. There's still lots to do: get outside with Gwangalli Beach, take in the views from Gwangandaegyo Bridge, visit Gwangbokro Culture and Fashion street, and enjoy the sand and surf at Songjeong Beach.

Traveling by car from Gyeongju to Busan takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. When traveling from Gyeongju in April, plan for a bit warmer days in Busan, with highs around 22°C, while nights are a bit cooler with lows around 10°C. You'll set off for home on the 7th (Wed).
