Friday Harbor, San Juan Island

The tiny town of Friday Harbor is the largest village on the San Juan Islands, and it fits within just 2.6 km (1 sq mi) of space.
Start off your visit on the 14th (Fri): get interesting insight from Tours, then experience rural life at Pelindaba Lavender Farm, and then admire the majestic nature at Lime Kiln Point State Park. Keep things going the next day: get in on the family fun at Zip San Juan, then make a trip to English Camp, and then see the interesting displays at The Whale Museum.

Newport

A town that survives on the sea, Newport's population of just over 10,000 supports a healthy commercial fishing industry.
Get in touch with nature at Nye Beach and Devil's Churn. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Dolphin & Whale Watching and Ocean to Bay Trail. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Newport: Heceta Head Lighthouse (in Florence) and Cape Perpetua Visitor Center - Siuslaw National Forest (in Yachats).
