The capital of the country's northernmost province, the city of Chuncheon acts a gateway to the wilder sights of the rural region.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Tue): take in nature's colorful creations at Jade Garden Natural Arboretum, then head off the coast to Nami Island, and then find something for the whole family at Gangchon Rail Park.

Traveling by car from Seoul to Chuncheon takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a subway. In February, daytime highs in Chuncheon are 5°C, while nighttime lows are -4°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Tue) so you can drive to Gangneung.

Gangneung

A large coastal city, Gangneung has been historically separated from much of the country because of the long, stretching mountain range that runs parallel to the sea.

Gyeongju

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.

Busan

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like UN Memorial Cemetery and Spas. There's still lots to do: take in the views from Gwangandaegyo Bridge, head outdoors with Gwangalli Beach, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Haedong Yonggung Temple, and kick back and relax at Songdo Beach.

You can drive from Gyeongju to Busan in 1.5 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or take a train. While traveling from Gyeongju, expect a bit warmer days and little chillier nights in Busan, ranging from highs of 10°C to lows of 0°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Sun) to allow time to travel to Jeju.

Jeju, Jeju Island

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at PLAY KPOP and Hyeopjae Beach. Venture out of the city with trips to Seogwipo (Seonim Bridge, Daepo Haean Jusangjeolli Cliff, &more). Spend the 24th (Wed) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour.
