Get a sense of the local culture at Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace. Get some historical perspective at Bongeunsa Temple and Baek In-je's House. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Seoul: Masian Beach (in Incheon) and Bucheon Botanical Garden (in Bucheon). There's lots more to do: stop by Myeongdong Shopping Street, wander the streets of Bukchon Hanok Village, explore the activities along Cheonggyecheon Stream, and make a trip to Insadong.

You can fly from Jeju to Seoul in 3 hours. Other options are to do a combination of ferry and train; or do a combination of ferry and car. In August, daily temperatures in Seoul can reach 86°F, while at night they dip to 74°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 23rd (Fri) early enough to catch the train to Gangneung.

A large coastal city, Gangneung has been historically separated from much of the country because of the long, stretching mountain range that runs parallel to the sea.
Get a sense of the local culture at Heogyun and Heonanseolheon Memorial Hall and Mukho Lighthouse Park. Visit Gyeongpo Beach and Sacheonjin Beach for some beach relaxation. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Gangneung: Jeongseon 5-day Market (in Jeongseon-gun) and Chuam Beach (in Donghae). The adventure continues: get outside with Gangmun Beach and kick back and relax at Jeongdongjin Beach.

Visiting Anapji Pond and Gyeongju Bird Park will get you outdoors. Popular historic sites such as Bulguksa Temple and Gyeongju Hyanggyo Confucian School are in your itinerary. Go for a jaunt from Gyeongju to Pohang to see Jukdo Market about 56 minutes away. Spend the 31st (Sat) exploring nature at Gyeongju National Park. And it doesn't end there: see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum, contemplate the long history of Cheomseongdae Observatory, and pause for some photo ops at Seokguram.

Getting from Andong to Gyeongju by bus takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a train. Traveling from Andong in August, expect nights in Gyeongju to be about the same, around 73°F, while days are slightly colder, around 73°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 1st (Sun) early enough to catch the train to Ulsan.
