— 4 nights

The capital of Gabon and home to almost half of the country's residents, Libreville differs from many African cities, with paved roads, clean streets, and luxurious residences.Libreville is known for beaches, shopping, and museums. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: explore the galleries of Musee des Arts et Traditions du Gabon (Museum of Art and Culture), tour the pleasant surroundings at Akanda National Park, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Notre-dame de Lourdes, and head outdoors with Pointe-Denis Beach.

Gabon travel guide
Though tourism in Gabon remains a fledgling industry, the benefits of exploring this untempered place of wildlife-rich rainforests and ethnic diversity are numerous. A large percentage of the country remains protected as national parkland, allowing the dolphins playing in the Atlantic and the chimps and forest elephants to breathe a sigh of relief. The population includes around 40 different ethnicities, but the country has thankfully avoided the conflict and ethnic violence common among many of its neighbors.
