Not too far from the capital, Ito has developed a reputation as a resort town, with a fair portion of its area lying within a national park.

Getting from Ito to Shimoda by train takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: drive. In April, plan for daily highs up to 20°C, and evening lows to 17°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Sun) so you can go by car to Hamamatsu.
