The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
Step out of Darwin with an excursion to Dundee Explorer in Dundee Beach--about 1h 25 min away. Spend the 8th (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Spend the 23rd (Sun) exploring nature at Charles Darwin National Park. Next up on the itinerary: stroll through Mindil Beach, see the interesting displays at Defence of Darwin Experience, cool off at Darwin Waterfront, and take an unforgettable tour with a helicopter tour.
