A gateway to the coastal region, Mangalore has long served as a stop-off point on maritime trade routes, and remains a major port city today.
Take a break from Mangalore with a short trip to Someshwara Temple in Someshwar, about 30 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: take in the spiritual surroundings of Kudroli Gokarnath Temple, kick back and relax at Panambur Beach, pause for some serene contemplation at St. Aloysius Chapel, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Tannirbhavi Beach.

Bengaluru to Mangalore is an approximately 3-hour combination of bus and flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling by car from Mangalore to Gokarna takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Mon) early enough to travel to Tumkur.

Start off your visit on the 10th (Tue): take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Shivagange and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Devarayana Durga. On your second day here, take in the spiritual surroundings of Siddaganga Mutt, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sri Chennakeshava Temple, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Yediyur Siddhalingeshwara Temple, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Narasimha Swamy Temple.
