Light of America

High in the Andean foothills, Quito remains one of the world's most photogenic capital cities, featuring two dramatic mountain ranges as its backdrop.
Museo Templo del Sol Pintor Ortega Maila and Lindberg Galeria/Taller are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Museum-lovers will appreciate Ridal Galeria Cafe and Museo Casa del Alabado. Explore Quito's surroundings by going to Termas de Papallacta (in Papallacta) and Otavalo Market (in Otavalo). And it doesn't end there: look for gifts at Olga Fisch Folklore, admire the landmark architecture of Basilica del Voto Nacional, see the interesting displays at Intinan Museum, and get to know the fascinating history of Quito Old Town.
