The capital and largest city of Serbia, cosmopolitan Belgrade sits on the confluence of the Sava and the Danube rivers.
Venture out of the city with trips to Oplenac (in Topola) and Petrovaradin Fortress (in Petrovaradin). There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Kalemegdan, make a trip to Knez Mihailova, kick back and relax at Ada Ciganlija, and pause for some photo ops at Pobednik.
