One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Get some historical perspective at Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changgyeonggung Palace. Attractions like Myeongdong Shopping Street and Trickeye Museum Seoul make great kid-friendly stops. Go for a jaunt from Seoul to Yongin to see Everland about 1h 15 min away. There's still lots to do: take a stroll through Insadong, stop by Bukchon Hanok Village, take an in-depth tour of Seoul Museum of History, and explore the striking landscape of Bukhansan National Park.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Seoul is an approximately 11-hour flight. You can also drive. Traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Seoul, you'll lose 1 hour due to the time zone difference. While traveling from Kuala Lumpur, expect little chillier days and about the same nights in Seoul, ranging from highs of 35°C to lows of 27°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Sun) to allow time to travel to Gyeongju.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Kick off your visit on the 10th (Mon): appreciate the extensive heritage of Tongiljeon, steep yourself in history at Bulguksa Temple, thencontemplate in the serene atmosphere at Golgulsa Temple, and finally steep yourself in history at Oksanseowon Confucian Academy.

Fly from Seoul to Gyeongju in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. Expect a bit cooler weather when traveling from Seoul in August: highs in Gyeongju hover around 26°C, while lows dip to 26°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Mon) so you can drive to Busan.

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Birthplace of President Roh Moo-hyun and Tongdosa Temple. You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Songdo Beach and Haeundae Beach. When in Busan, make a side trip to see Gimhae National Museum in Gimhae, approximately Gimhae away. There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Dadaepo Beach, hunt for treasures at Jagalchi Market, and admire the local landmark of Busan Station Plaza.

Getting from Gyeongju to Busan by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a bus; or take a train. When traveling from Gyeongju in August, plan for somewhat warmer days in Busan, with highs around 36°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 27°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 13th (Thu) early enough to travel back home.
